Lauren, I wish I could hug you! I too am living with Stage 4. I've had a lumpectomy in 2001 a bilateral mastectomy in 2006 and then had recurrance/metastatic in my collarbone 08. Needless to say it is a long journey. You sound like you have 'the fight' in you. I love your "Don't stare, say a prayer". I am going to remember that. May our fight be worthwhile and successful. Eventhough I might never physically meet you I feel like we know each other a little bit.
Take care,
God Bless

You rock my world with your positive attitude. I am not a survivor per se, but I am a sister of a survivor who has been battling this for 8 years. I look to people like you for inspiration, direction and peace. Recently diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer has been a part of my family life for a long time. Though our childhood was fraught with trauma and sibling rivlary, it has taken this disease for both of us to realize how much we mean to one another...and for that I am grateful. I am thankful I we spend so much family time together and I have learned the elusive trait of patience and hope. I strongly believe things happen for a reason and though I rage at the injustice of this all, I also am thankful for the closeness my sister and I share. She is a remarkable woman and I hope I never have to demonstrate the stength of character she has.
