7 Deadly Health Sins for Women
The Today Show has a new news segment called Today’s Daily Dose.  Today they had a great health segment on the 7 Deadly Health Sins for women.  Click on the link to view the video segment.  

 

 

1- Drinking- Two real problems.  Men have an enzyme called alcohol dehydrogenates in their stomachs that women don’t…and they can metabolize faster than women.  Serving size. Too much alchocal puts women at a higher risk for cancer. A little goes a long way.

2- Binge Eating- Stress is a factor and is more common in unhappy persons. Figure out why you are eating like that. When food becomes your enemy..it trickles down into your life…Unlock the triggers.

3- Smoking- Increases your risk of lung cancers.  If you are a smoker you have to know that it is your only approved thing that can cause many Cancers.   Cancer, Emphysema, Stroke, More wrinkles.  Smoking is one thing you have control in your life. There is 2nd and 3rd hand smoke.  Those smells on the your clothes can still hurt you.  It is these that linger the lead, carbon dioxide, that stay on your clothes, and  upholstery.  Stay away from smoking, never handle a baby when you have been smoking, they breathe in the dangerous lingering smells on your clothes.

4- Toxic relationships-  Who lives longer? Married women or Married men?  Married Men is the answer. Women take care instinctively.  Many women have a hard time walking away from toxic relationships. If you are in a unhappy relationship you have to extricate yourself, figure out how to make yourself happy.  Staying in a Toxic relationship damages your health by adding stress.  Work your problems out, seek help, and focus on being healthy.

5- Sleep deprivation- Most Americans don’t get enough 7-8 hours a night is what our bodies need.  40 million Americans don’t get enough sleep.

 Which of the following is affected by lack of sleep?  A. Your heart B. Your immune system C. Your weight or  D. All of the above.  The Answer is D.  Sleep is important for your overall health.  Make sure to catch your Z’s every night.

6- Unsafe sex- What age group of women has the highest increase of HIV 55-70 or 18-55?   It’s women 55-70.  Unprotected sex in older women is a fact, and so is the rise of HIV in women ages 55-70.  You can’t let your guard down.  

7-Not seeing the Doctor- Seeing a doctor is important or some sort of health care provider.  They are people who are part of our health care team that we must keep in touch with.

 
Screening tests- Which one you don’t need?  A. Blood Pressure B. Bone density  C. Urinalysis D. Blood Tests   Answer is Bone Density, we don’t need a bone density test every year.  Blood Pressure, Urinalysis and Blood Tests are perfect health maintenance tests.
